I sure hate to send these Dubonnets to New York, to Apple Hydraulics to be rebuilt... the price has gone sky high... it is now $2,500 for two of them to be rebuilt.... I know some of you have your own machine shops... or local machine shops that have the ability to do some simple machining, to install Bronze bushings in place of the needle bearings.. and install Buna Nitrile seals instead of the old packing on the main shaft..... I would be willing to pay you, (or anybody), $1,400 to do two of them.....
I took the main shaft out (some needle bearings were missing), and the shafts show no scoring or wear... nice and smooth.... they are cleaned up... and ready for repair.... the steering arms are removed and ready to box them up and send them to you....
I know some of you have had local machine shops do yours... Would you please give me their contact info...???
I know there have to be alternatives to Apple's price... I have contacted all the machine shops within 200 miles of me, (Silver City, NM.) and none of them will take on the job... So PLEASE HELP me find someone willing to do these, that has done them before... any help would be appreciated.

I've done a set for a friend of mine. I built a jig to clamp these in my mill and bore them out. PM me, Yeah I'm new. My buddy texted this post to me. You can ask him if I'm good to go. He's CochinaPatina Evan
Kcstott.... CochinaPatina... Evan... spoke highly of your work... I sent you a PM... look for it and get back to me... to see if we can work together on this... thanks, Sunny

UPDATE... Kcstott and I are talking about him possibly doing this work.. but it couldn't happen for a few months with him...... anyone else have someone that might work on these for me...??
Latest update,,,, I found someone to do the job... and so I wish I could delete this post..... or hide it....
Sunny, there is no need to delete or hide the thread. We're happy that you found someone to do the work. Keep us posted on how it goes.
Bill... I just didn't want anyone to bother kelly...about rebuilding there Dubonnets... because he has a full time other job.. and does not normally take on any extra outside work... I was just wanting to protect his privacy... from others looking for a shock rebuilder... he does Not normally rebuild them...
