Hi all, My Uncle is in need of a clutch disc 9 inch for a 36 standard. I have looked on the filling station web and they list 32-37 as the same disc found some on ebay that are listed for 33-34 9 inch. Are they different or will they interchange? Thanks Ron
The ones listed for 1933-34 are for the Standard models for those years. The splines are different and will not work for a 1936 Standard.
The Filling Station listings are correct.
A local clutch and brake rebuilder probably could reline yours.

The spline diameter for a '36 is smaller than the earlier models(early models are 1 1/8" dia X 10 spline,common right up to this day),and is possibly 1" diameter X 10 spline(I'm probably wrong about that).

I have the clutch disc your uncle is seeking. Do I know you or him from the 1936 Chevy owners forum? If you're interested in this clutch disc, it and a lot of other Chevy parts of that era area available, left from my '36 pickup restoration in the early 1970s.
If his '36 is going to be a driver, not a trailer queen, I've figured out how to put 3.55 gears and a tandem master cylinder in a '36 and would be glad to share that information with him.

With the parts that are rebuilt for '36 Standard always request that they rebuild the part you sent only. Many re-builders don't know that '36's are a split year. Half (early) and Half (late) [and the year is lop sided not exactly 1/2 way through]. That makes these cars rare. [Rare means you won't find it, even though so many were made fewer and fewer exist in the original state due to hot roding. Then they sell that car. The new owner has no idea what hot rod part was put there and the car is lost.]
The parts book lists only one clutch disc for alll passengers cars from 1932-1937 except the 1933-1934 Standards. Also fit smaller trucks.
I can't think of any other first and second design parts used on 1936 Standards except for the all steel doors and their attaching parts.
I would be intrested in hearing of any other parts.
The truck had the low and high roof cabs and a handful of very early 1 1/2 ton trucks had mechanical brakes.

Thanks all for the feed back on this. His coupe was headed for the hot rod set-up. had a v-8 setting in it. They still had the motor,drivetrain but had chopped out the cross-member for the trans mount. So hes in need of a cross-member also if anyone has one or might know of one. Thanks again. Ron

Look in Hemmings Motor News . Com for Rocky Mountain Auto maybe even .com You will have to wait until the snow clears before he can pull parts for you. Worth the wait.
I got mine through Jim Carter Truck parts.
www.oldchevytrucks.com. They didn't need the old one but the core would have cost me had I not returned it. Mine is a 36 Master so maybe its different.
