Found on vacation in March at a Chev dealership in AZ, it was delivered yesterday. The dealership had no history, no tools, and no spare parts. Needs some sorting out and tinkering, gen not charging, and brakes now have leaked off. Interesting getting it off the enclosed car hauler with no service brakes.

Model 36-1011
Body S 32265
Trim 53
Paint code 196

There is a number 1 punched through the Fisher Body tag at an angle to the left of the info that was obviously punched before installation - any ideas as to meaning? Start of day, or maybe start of week, month?

36-1011 =1936 Master Deluxe Town Sedan 2 door with trunk
S 32265= S body made at StLouis Fisher Bosy plant, number is production sequence number indicating it is a late 1936 by the high number. Also that body style was the most popular in 1936.
Trim 53=common tan mohair nterior
Paint #196=black with cream body stripe

Thanks Gene, That's what I was looking for. I have Dick Davies service tech manual that has all technical bulletins from 1929 to 1940. It has A LOT of info on the 36 and all the other years but somehow the page that would have had the paint codes skipped from 192 in 1935 to 211 in 1937. Dick was one of the founding members of the Columbia River Region in 1966. The car is still mostly all wood with wood doors and sills. The rest of the body is covered with fabric. At this point it makes me think that the paint on it may not have been an original paint combo for 1936. Oh well. I paid the $25 judging fee for the next NW mini meet in August so I'm sure they will tell us everything that's wrong with it. This is our first mid 30s car. We have had a 40 for 16 years, and a 29 for 15 years so its all new to us. I'm sure it will take awhile to learn the details of this model.

Hey Gene could take a shot at this one. All my numbers are the same as Beachbum except the Paint code and the Body No. Mine is B 15179. I assume B is Baltimore but do the other numbers mean anything?

Thanks for any input.

Yes, B would be Baltimore. Post your serial number using XXXX for the last four digets.
Also post yor paint number as black had more than one paint number due to different color stripes.

Not exactly sure what you asking for but I'll try this:

Style No. 36-1011
Body No. B 15179
Trim No. 53
Paint No. 202 (?) It looks like that Tampa Metallic on the firewall

202 is Tampa Mtallic.
The above numbers/letters refer to the body only.
The serail number is on the front floor, right side in front of the seat between the sill plate and battery cover. Being a Baltimore car it will begin with 14 followed by FA follows by a letter and then the serial number. The letter will ID the month the car was assembled.(may be a number)

I am sending you a message. Click on the flashing red flag on the top of the page "My Stuff".

Gene, I believe "B" on the Fisher Body Tag indicates Buffalo which made cars up to 1941. Baltimore was given "M" (for Maryland) when it opened in 1935 because "B" was already being used. I'm not sure when Baltimore swapped "M" for "B", but it must have been after the Buffalo plant closed in 1941.

Mike B :)

You are correct.
