Hi,
I'm looking to replace my coil and condenser on a 12 volt 1954 Chevy 125. Any ideas for the correct ones. Generally use NAPA but am open to other vendors.
Thanks, Frank
I would say it depends on your distributer, I have an HEI, 12v in mine and it takes at least 50k,and it is just like the original.
Generally speaking if your car has a ballast resistor than the coil information should say it needs an external resistor. NAPA should have one for you. However I have no idea about the correct one for judging.

If you get a condenser manufactured in modern times, you should be fine. I bought several recently, I think they were Blue Streak. I took one apart and it had modern materials inside, no paper. I am happy with that.
Thanks. The coil my NAPA store recommended was IC14SB. Put in and it fired right up.
