Drove the 34 Master. Before I parked it I noticed that the charging rate was pegged at 20 amps. At idle, it went back to 0. Even the slightest increase in RPM brought it back to 20. It was making a sparking noise at idle. I thought it was the cut out so I replaced it. Still making a sparking noise but does not now show any charging. Had the wire from generator to cut out replaced. No luck. Same noise and no charging. Anyone experience similar problems?

Something is shorted at or inside the generator full fielding it and causing it to charge at maximum.

Thanks Gene. It was max charging and now not charging at all. So, from what you said, it is a problem with the field coils?
