Is there a problem with the 1931chevrolet.com website or is it a problem with my computer? When I request the 1931chevrolet.com website, the screen says 'Privacy Error' This server could not prove that it is 1931chevrolet.com; its security certificate expired 38 days ago. Also a statement about possible attackers/hackers. Can someone with computer knowledge explain this issue. I could continue onto 1931chevrolet.com website, but a statement says that it is unsafe to do so. I'm using Windows 7 if that has a bearing on things.

Mine was the same way but I went on to the site.

Nope... nothing is wrong with the site. And nothing has changed on it.

A year or so ago, the "rules committee" on all things wed, made a new change that said that all web sites in the future need to be https, not http. I have not modified the 31 site yet, so they have now added the warning message to all http sites in order to FORCE us to update them.

MY site renews next month and I was waiting until then to change it. Since you don't "exchange" info with the site, you can safely VIEW it.

There's nothing wrong with proceeding to the site until then. Enjoy.

Thanks for the explanation, Bill.

I was having a similar problem with another site and I am glad to know the backstory now.

This morning I was finally able to update the Security Certificate and that has removed the warning that you were seeing. Naturally these certificates aren't free. So once again, a "rules" or "regulation" changed ended up costing citizens additional money.

Congrats (and condolences) on the security update.

So, if the site went from http to https, do all previous links in VCCA posts that point to http need to be updated to https?

Thanks, Dean (web detail illiterate)
