Good Morning,
I bought a new wiring harness for my 32 1/2 ton and am setting it up on the bench before I install it.
Should I have continuity through the housing of the fuel gauge?
Thank you
Ed

Are you talking about the gauge on the dash? Yes. If you are talking about the sending unit yes, about 0-30 ohms as you move the arm.

I am talking about the dash gauge. There seems to be continuity between the terminals and the case.
I would hate to hook it up and let the smoke out.

I just checked five of my gas gauges and they all have some degree of continuity between each terminal and the gauge housing.

On a different leg of this question, where did you purchase the wiring harness and are you pleased with what you received? I am ready to purchase one for my 29 and am looking. Thanks.

I bought the harness from YnZs Yesterdays Parts.
I am very happy with it. It seems to be made very close to the original. The only thing is I have a truck and they ran the fuel gauge wire all the way back. My tank is under the seat. No problem, just cut to fit.
