On a 31 rear bumper is the curve on the ends the same as the front bumper? Basicly, Is it the same just shorter? Roger

Are you talking about the early double face bar bumper or the later single face bar bumper? And, are you talking about the solid rear bumper or the rear bumperetts?

I guess what I was trying to say, is the double face bar in the front the same as the double face bar in the back? At one time I thought they had some double face bar bumpers that went clear across, not bumperetts. I understand that the length is diferant, but is the curve the same? and what about mounting it to the car? Are the mounts the same as the bumperetts? That just about confused me too.

Both were available! The bumperetts were generally used if the vehicle had a rear mounted spare and the solid rear bumper was generally used if the car had sidemounts. However, since these were dealer installed accessories the dealer would install whatever the customer wanted. Therefore, a car with sidemounts could have the rear bumperetts.

The solid rear double face bar had a slightly different curve than the front double face bar because it is longer. Also, the rear bumper bracket was different than the front bumper bracket both in length and in curvature.

The solid double face bumber and bracket must be real hard to find.I had a farmer thought about shorting a front bumper, but if the curve is wrong that will not work. The spring outfit I was working with said they could do the welding but it would not be the same. If you where in a wreck it would brake next to the weld. The bumperetts must be just fine, rats. Thanks Roger

If you would like, I could send you some pictures of my 31 coupe bumpers. I have the double faced bumpers and the rear ones go all the way across. Is your email address "rjp" or "rtp" in the beginning?

The solid rear bumper is longer than the front bumper, not shorter.
