Well here we go again.

Seems like the Chat Chapter is due for another vote shortly. In the interest of all you charter members I have sent an updated filing fee to Joe Smith so the application is held current.

Seems to me that it would be a waste of time to have the motion defeated due to a technical detail like not having the filing fee enclosed.

It's been explained to me that due to the receint modified rules concerning Non-Geo Regions or Non-Geo Groups the Chat Chapter as designed will now fall under the modified rules. As you know we missed getting approval the first time because we are not vehicle specific. The new modified rules motion now approve of Non-Geo special interest groups. (or something like that)

So, we are back in it. Good luck to everyone this time. You guys deserve the designation. I hope we all can unite under the new Chat Group (or whatever they will call it) and make something out of it that we all can be proud of. It does have the potential to be very different and positive for the VCCA.

It would be great to hear from some of you charter members, and the elected officers at this time. Maybe we could hear a few ideas as to what will come next should we get approved.

Very hopeful news, Ray; and thank you very much for taking care of the filing fee again.

Speaking of fees, one of the first things on our agenda (should we be approved) is to organize; set and collect dues; set meeting times and how to meet (here on Chat for the world to see or "somewhere" else). Some of this organizational stuff may have been discussed in the previous forum (we should all go back and refresh our memories....I know I need to).

IMHO we as a group need to work in concert with the BOD and our webmaster to provide services to enhance VCCA via this media. We also need to work in our own "clubhouse" to do whatever we do, and not be under scrutiny of the whole world......only the VCCA. First job then is to get that VCCA membership database going. Perhaps start with a small database of Chat Chapter members so we can get a "private room" to work in.

Let me back up a minute.......the very first thing we need to do is wait awhile until the voting takes place. We (at least I) don't want to put the cart ahead of the horse.

Getting a little late and I want to give this a little more thought. Be back later.

I appreciate your efforts and $$$ in kicking the ball off again, I have lost track of the months or I would have mentioned it a little earlier.
At this stage I hope all goes according to plan but I suggest we dont do much more than neccessary until the vote goes our way then I suggest the I M chat that K1Dan setup as an initial meeting room at least.
As I suggested last round those that have outlayed $$$ to get this up and running should be reimbursed out of any initial income (I am quite prepared to put in my share).
If I can assist from down under let me know.

I am all for it. While we are enjoying the new club's activities we could be doing some computer associated chores for the club and the BOD , gathering and entering data doing a e-club newsletter,etc.,etc. would show that we have a real added value potential to the entire club

I hope the BOD sees the value in Chat Chapter and gives us their stamp of approval.

With the adjusting of the requirements and defination of a non-geographical region some of our supporters on the BOD have managed to make approval much more likely. I am much more inclined to believe that the VCCA can begin to make the strides toward a truly modern club that will appeal to more of the younger Chevy nuts.

Ray.Thanks for keeping us in the Chat Chapter mode. I have not had a computer since Jan. 1 so I am a little behind. I am a charter member so keep me in the group. I vote yes for everything . I will be back in Missouri on my regular computer April 1. I will try to keep up with the posts until then. Jim JAR41.

Top Dog, Did we elect a web-master for Chat Chapter? If we didn't I propose that we have one, especially since we are a computer oriented chapter. If you guys agree that we need one I would like to nominate Bill B. as the Chat Chapter web-master.

Also having 5 club officers instead of 4 makes tie votes harder to get...IMHO.
