I know the warnings about over doing the restoration job, so with that said, is the attached EBAY auction link for an "Auto Cigarette Dispenser and Lighter DECO" really an item that could be added to a '26 Sedan, and would it be acceptable to do so today? I value the options of my piers on this discussion forum.

Hi Bill,

Acceptable is a subjective thing.
Acceptable to VCCA judges looking for authenticity, I would say no.
Acceptable to the American Cancer Society, I would say no. chevy
Other opinions???

The period termed "art deco" manifested itself roughly between the two world wars, or 1920 to 1939. Many actually stretch this period back to 1900 and even as far as the late 1950's, but work of this time is generally considered to be more of an influence to the Art Deco style, or having been influenced by the style.

I would therefore say your piece fits the period, however it's acceptability is subject for debate. devil
