On my Confederate the door panels appear to be original fabric, but they are held in place with Phillips head screws. 1932 is about four years too early for the Phillips head, so presumably some past owner used them to affix original panels to the doors and posts. Am I right in thinking this won't pass? Should it be hidden nails instead?

Just regular finishing nails. Probably 3/4” length. Nailed every 6-8 inches and you use a large needle or small pick to lift the fabric over the tiny head of the mail.
