Hello everyone, I have a question regarding 1953 Chevrolet cars painted Black. I have seen many Bel Airs with an ivory top and a black lower body, however, I am not sure if it is factory or not because the only paint code for black that I can find is 480. Hopefully someone will jump in here with some information as sure could use some guidance.
Thanks,
Dave

Yes, there were 1053 models in solid black. In 1953 colors were in and black was not too common.

Thank you Gene, it appears that the car had the top painted India Ivory. The trim area on the sides of the car are black where the Bel-Air emblems are. Thanks for clearing this up! This car is now a new member of my family and I couldn't be happier. Since it is a stick car, I will probably need information regarding the engine/transmission, etc as my 210 is a PG car.
