Hi, new here and my first question is where to buy the lock set and ignition tumbler for my 47 Coupe? I see all kinds of stuff for the trucks but not the cars. Will a latter model from the 50's work? Thanks

Welcome to the VCCA. Not sure on the 50. The 47 uses a 3 position switch with a tang on it. Try Jarvis Erickson in Lynwood WA. 425 776 2804 phone/fax. Good luck.

The 3 position switch came out in 48. The 47 switch is either on or off.

Thanks for the clarification Dick. My first car was a 47 and had a couple of 47 parts cars, but didn't remember their ignition switches. A neighbor bought a 48 a few years ago. I stopped by and he was having trouble getting it started. I showed him the switch need to be vertical. He assumed it was like the 39 he had. Just checked the parts book and all the 47's use the tang one except the Fleetmaster, Fleetline and Stylemaster. The passenger cars. Very weird.
