am seeing a lot more "woody/woodie" wagons, 1954 - 58 in particular; it gives rise to questions:

1. what was the last model year that Chevrolet used real wood as trim
2. "woody trim" on recent arrivals to the show scene appears to be made of formed foam with a fiberglass skim
3. is a supplier making "woody" trim that is readily available to a customer (inventory for sale) or is it mainly custom fabricated from scratch (perhaps using 3D copier technology?

Are you stating that for the 1949 model year, a "real" wood wagon and a faux wood "woody" were both available within the same model year? I had heard that before but never from someone with your credentials

there were 3342 wood wagons produced and 2664 steel bodird, The wood bodies were made by Iona and the steel bodies by Fisher Body Division of GM. The wood bodies were discondinued mid year, Both styles were avaiilable at the beginning of the year and both were priced the same.

National Woodie Club has a roster of owners and each monthly issue has vendors listed and parts for sale.
I have a 49 Pontiac, body by Ionia, upper half structural wood, and the wood includes upper door panels and quarterpanels in the rear as well as a wood tailgate. The roof is sheet metal, with interior wood-grained steel top bows inside, and interior includes mahogany door panels, and rear quarter panels as well. Chev the same. I can assure you nobody has a stock of parts for the Pontiac; I rather doubt it'll be so for the Chev.
