Prior to starting my '28 4 cylinder after total restoration... is there any 'priming' procedure before the fuel can mounted on the firewall will work?

Hi Todd,

My vacuum tank needs to be 'primed' every so often when my trucks have sat too long and the gas has evaporated out the vent at the top of the tank.

So, I rigged both of my trucks to facilitate easy priming. Here's a write up of that set up: Turning your vehicle into a portable gas station

Cheers, Dean

I have fitted an outboard boat motor fuel primer to the inlet of the vac tank. A few pumps primes the vacuum tank. Another way to get fuel up is to pressurise the fuel tank with compressed air.
