1928 4 Cylinder restoration, upon breakdown I discovered (SEE PICTURES) that someone in the past had bolted the flywheel on to the crank...but had not aligned the punch marks directly abeam to each other between the crank end and flywheel.
1. Why would they have done this?
2. Are there any concerns this would have on the operation and more importantly the PROCEDURE WHEN TIMING the engine?

The timing marks on the flywheel would be off by 60 degrees. The timing among the crank, camshaft, and distributor would not be affected by this.
