I had my vent window frames rechromed and got more chrome than needed- the pivot pin on the upper bracket was plated and no longer fits the recess in the outer frame. The pin is about 1/2 " long above a shoulder. I am curious if it needs to pocket completely inside the hole. Update: I also found a rubber plug/cushion in the pocket hole. Is this an OEM item to cushion the frame or something the plater used to keep the hole from being plated? I emery papered the pin and it now fits into the pocket 100%. I replaced the rubber pad as I believe it will help to reduce any vibration/looseness in the connection.

Steve, attached is a photo of the vent window from that extra door. It looks like the pivot went though the rubber weather strip and into the chrome frame. I hope this helps. Let me know if you need anything else.
