Has anyone done anything about replacing their 37 chevy truck steering gearbox with something a little better? Either bolt in or needs to be fabricated in, don't care. Just curious what else to use besides the old wornout gear box I've removed.

With some minor modifications the 1941 and up truck recirulating ball steering gear can be installed.

Awesome thank you.
Chev nut, have a question for you regarding the front axle on these.
Can't I replace my 37 axle with something from a 50 and have the larger diameter kingpins? I believe their all exactly the same regarding leaf spring mounting

Unless you are planning on some really wild driving I doubt you will need larger king pins or heavier front axle. You may need to change the spindles to use the later model brakes though. Tony

I have the 41-6 steering box in my 37,just put it in complete with the column and wheel. I do have a later axle in it too and its dropped 3 inches and it bolted in.
