Hey Guys, The front and rear bumpers on my 28 have been painted silver and black. Is this correct or should the bumpers be chrome and black inlay?

I have some rear bumperettes that have what appears to be chrome peeling off and chrome bolts in the ends. I wasn't sure if they had chrome in 28 or just like a polished nickel plating. I also have two front bumpers that have no plating on them with un-plated bolts on the ends all rusty. One does however have plated medallions.
Perhaps they had both. Hopefully someone else will chime in.

Note that theer were a few off-brand bumpers made for 1928.

There are two different '28 bumpers. One painted black with stainless inserts. The other is chromed with black painted grooves.

I had been using Dallas Plating in Dallas, Georgia based on some VCCA regional members recommendations. They were good at that time. I have heard on here or some other forum that there was a generational or ownership change so I am not sure the recommendation would still be valid. The good thing is you can drive the parts there and pick them up without using a shipping service. Last time i had chrome done I went to S&H in Madison, TN, very happy with the product.

Let us know what you find.

Dave
