I try to keep my 48 Fleetmaster as stock as possible but sometimes I can't do otherwise as making minor modifications.
Does anyone know the value in Oms of the resistor needed for the fuel gage when converting electrics from 6 to 12 volts?
I should normally order a set of resistors from one of the known USA-based vendors but I only need the one for the fuel gauge and shipping takes a long time to come and at a considerable cost.
I really appreciate any help you can provide.

I dont think you need a resistor for the fuel guage as they are not voltage controlled but resistance controlled, adding resistance prior to the guage on the dash wont make any difference to operation.

I used a 30 ohm 2 watt resistor. Some folks have good luck with using no resistor and some end up with a burned out gauge.

My 1951 1 Ton is now on the road! My 38 Master 4 Door is also now on the road .

Thank you.
After a search, I found out that Rusty 37 master also mentioned it.
For now, I will use a switch in the gage wiring so I will be turning it momentarily on when I need to know the fuel level.
