Friends and fellow Chevy enthusiasts,
I am trying to find my original 1957 Chevy VIN #VC57K192440, 2-Dr HT, original Imperial Ivory (794A) with red/black interior (676). Recently I found out on the Classic Car VINData site (that searches on 12-digit VINs) that the car was titled in MICHIGAN on December 27, 2021, so it is current and still alive and kicking! I was stunned!
I last saw the car in 1966 when I sold it in Fairview, MI as I left for college at Michigan State. I realize the owner may not want to part with it but I have to try! Even to see it again!
My Question: How does one find and contact an unknown owner of a classic car?

Hi Jerry, Welcome to the VCCA's website! Great back story and current status of the car! I suggest contacting the MI DMV and see if they can help you. They might not because of privacy restrictions. After that, see if you can find an MI DMV authorized registration business who might forward a letter from you to the current owner without giving you their private info. Another avenue to check is to contact the Lower Michigan Region (chapter) of the VCCA and see if any of the members know about this vehicle. You'll find their contact info here: https://vcca.org/page/RegionsGood luck! Dean
