I have a 31 pickup and was wondering if there is a diagram available that shows how the wood fits inside the cab. i have most of the upper wood to use as a pattern. its the lower sections that i have nothing, the area from the cowl back, near the floor. like from the cowl base to the rear corners of the cab, the threshold area. and at the corners how does all that fit together? THERE MUST BE SOMETHING Jay D.
Jay, I know there are differences between a 31 and a 34 but here is a posting from member christech on the aaca site where he rebuilds a 34 and It may give you some ideas. IDK if you have checked with Jim Rodman, but I bought the harder key pieces for my 28 from him and am doing the rest myself. I found his prices to be reasonable and he is helpful if you have questions. He will sell you just one side of anything, then you can replicate the other side (mirror image) He has a young assistant gal who keeps him on the ball. Christech is on this site as well (if you were not aware) and makes wood also and does an excellent job! Probably quite busy though. I could send you pictures of how my wood is coming for my 28, but IDK how similar it may or may not be. THANKS David, i'm going to check with the two you suggested. it my be a good idea to buy a few of the key pieces as you suggested just to help figure out where i'm at. i have most of the wood in pattern condition, except for the lower rear cab corners and the threshold area up to the cowl Jay D.
If the main sills on a ‘31 are similar to a ‘34 then they are fairly easy. The cab corners were thick blocks rounded if I remember correctly. I’d have to look at my photos. Unfortunately I didn’t make a second set of wood back then because I didn’t have the storage room nor did I think I was going to keep making wood. Things change in life and now I’m making lots of wood. Do my pictures look anything like your ‘31?
