Does anyone know if Is there a slightly smaller diameter Chevy steering wheel that would fit my 1933 Chevy master? The original is 17 inches in diameter. In my previous post I said I have long legs which make it difficult to apply the brake. A smaller wheel would make it difficult to steer but it might make it possible to brake without knee pain.

The Stadard had a 16 inch wheel. Not sure it would fit your steering shaft.

Same with 34,35 and 36's, Masters vs Standards.

You might be able to find a machine shop that can cut the proper taper and cut a key slot in a smaller diameter wheel. The Standard wheel has a smaller diameter taper than Master. If not carefully removing material with a round file, checking the fit often and the key slot with a flat file can do it but would take a lot of TV time to accomplish.

Any good machine shop can do that job. I did such on my tractor with a taper bit and file.

I have not seen a 16 inch wheel for anything but a 33 Standard. The 34 Standard wheel is17 inch but has the smaller shaft and smaller hub. I replaced my 16 inch wheel with a 17 inch wheel for appearance and it does make shifting more difficult for someone with long legs. I think it would be difficult to find a 33 std wheel in good condition or to have it remolded because of the unusual size.

Keep in mind that a 1 inch difference in the diameter of the wheel only gives 1/2 inch of extra clearance where you need it. You could go to a lot of trouble and expense and not realize any significant improvement in your situation.
