The numbers as given are a little confusing. 836010 is casting number for 1935-6. The casting date code J 20 8 would be J = October, 20 = 20th day, 8 = last digit of year. That would put it late in 1938 production or possibly a replacement block for 1935-6 when the 1939 models were in production.

It would be interesting to know if the water jacket extended to the bottom of the piston travel.

That is a casting number for a 1936 block. could have been cast from 1936-1947.

After about 1940 the 1935 block was discontinued and the 1936 block sold as a replacement.

It will have the full length water jackets so the cylinder barrels will not be visable form the left side.

The casting number on a 1935 block was 837591
