I came across a few new Muncie transmissions within my Dads estate. They are new, and I am trying to figure out what they are worth. Any feed back is much appreciated. The number stamped on the transmissions is 3925660.

Just checking, is this an incorrect question for this forum. If so, my mistake as I am new here. If not, do I need to add more info to work out the value of the transmissions. They have been stored in a shed for a long time, thanks for any feedback

I am not a 4 speed expert by a long way. One site that I have used to better understand what you might be looking at is: https://www.chevyhardcore.com/tech-stories/drivetrain/identify-four-speed-transmissions/

It identifies the casting number 3925660 as a Muncie "The casting number 3925660 denotes this as a 1968 – 1970 Muncie with a 1-inch cluster shaft."

Please don't misunderstand, but it would be unusual to find one "new" transmission, much less nine of them. Are they boxed or crated?
For your own protection, as well as the buyers, make sure you know what they are (new/used) before you sell them.
Congratulations.

Mike

Yes I agree have had this good problem with a few things in my Dads estate. I am trying to work out exactly what they are. They are not boxed or crated, just all together in one of the sheds on property and all look in great condition. I have had a problem on a few things, someone will say worth x and I find out through more investigation worth far more. So just trying to move slowly, appreciate your thoughts, best, Rick

The "value" of anything is what the buyer is willing to pay. Ask those who are telling you that they are worth more than others are telling you if they are willing to pay that for them. I'm not saying those who are advising you that they are worth more are wrong, only that they are wrong if no one is willing to pay that higher price. People see an item listed for sale priced at a high point and think that's what the item is worth. If no one is willing to pay that price and the item doesn't sell it's obviously not worth that amount.

Thanks to the links above was able to identify the transmissions, really interesting decoding all the number and shaft spline counts and how many ring grooves or in my case one has no ring grooves and the others have 2 ring grooves. Anyway have learned I have 8 M20, and one M20 with no vin numbers on bottom. Thanks all for help in leading me to these answers.

Fisher Body, if transmissions are not known to be new, your first post should be modified by erasing the word "new" from the content.
Good luck with your sales !
