Chipper, Jon or any other trusted source
Can anyone post a picture of a good condition original or perfectly restored 1931 carb?

I am specifically looked for what was painted and what was natural. Especially the bracket for the air cleaner and linkages.

This picture seems to show all the linkages as black and the accelerator pump as natural.

Thanks in advance! This forum is an amazing source of great information.

New old stock throttle and choke arms from a 1933 Carter parts cabinet are electroplated with what appears to be white cadmium. Since I didn't buy the cabinet new in 1933, I cannot state positively the parts were present in the cabinet in 1933, but they are genuine Carter parts, not aftermarket.

I do not have a new old stock bracket.

Pump housings were left natural.

I would guess the bracket used the same finish as the other steel parts.

I also have some NOS Carter carburetor parts. Without laboratory analysis it is difficult to determine the original plating material. I use electroplated zinc which has a similar appearance to aged NOS Carter parts. It is a process I can do in my shop.
