Hello, This might sound like a stupid question. Are the pillars side specific? The studs on the top of the pillar are angled in opposite directions. this makes securing the top extremely difficult. Without causing too much damage can the stud be heated and bent in the opposite direction?

. I'm not sure what you are talking about. The top of the wind shield posts are threaded to attach the top and stick straight up. Maybe you could circle what pillars you are referring to in the photo. .

Yes the posts are side specific. I would think the best remedy would be to purchase the correct part as the base is also different side to side.

Contact Gary Wallace at 20schevyparts.com to see if he has one. They also do come up at swap meets occasionally. Figure out which side you need (drivers or passenger side) and put an add in the "parts wanted" section of this forum. There is a difference between '27, and '28. The '27 is slightly curved inward just above the base whereas the '28 is straight.
