Hello !

My distributor Delco Remy 635B is worn out, i want to go with modern technology so i want electronic ignition !

I've heard a Bosch 009 from VW aircooled can be utilised into a 1928 chevrolet with little modification ( put the gear on i guess )

anybody have do this mod ? another dizzy can be utilised ? which mod are needed on the 009 to clear in the 28 chev' ?

i also live in europa so NOS part are hard to find and expensive, VW parts are much simpler and cheaper to have !!

Thanks you for your answer !

have a great ride

I do not know about an entire distributor, but you should be able to put a Pertronix set up into your distributor. I have seen a u-tube segment where the owner used modern components to modify an original dist. to electronic. I have a '28 4 cylinder that has an Autolite distributor with a vacuum advance mounted in it. The engine was rebuilt by a PO and I have not started it.

Hello
been running a Electronic Ignition for some time on my 1928 chevy it works great the pertronix 6v kit and there coil you have to use the right coil you have to make sure you have 5v to the coil as this is what it needs. make sure you have good battery and cables good battery and ground i use 1/0 cable and soldered ends also i used Optima battery 6v not cheap i also have a 6v alt. not a generator i can say that i turn on gas valve pull choke crank starter turn on ign. switch wait 5 sec.it start right up never have to crank motor over like i used to. And a good elect. system is key i hope this helps in your decision making rick
