Washer-Lock Crankshaft Bearing Cap Bolt. Whew; Thats a lot of words for a little tiny clip used to prevent loosening of the two bolts that hold the front mounting plate to the front of the engine. These are the two bolts that are only accessible with the oil pan removed. Since they are so inaccessible GM provided a washer with bending tabs to lock them in place. The part number for this little goodie as it appears in my GM parts catalog is 0.060 . My problem is that when tearing down a recently acquired 235 I found that the clip was missing. I am hoping to learn where I may buy one of these since I cannot seem to find a listing in any of the usual vendors catalogs. Any help would be appreciated.

Gene, I have considered using lock washers or star washers as a last resort. Your experience with the issue would validate my conclusion. Thanks for the reply.

Now that I think back the mechanics used to use shake proof washers, Either one should hold fine.

Are they the same as used on universal joint bolts ?
