The factory sweeps on my 38 were held in place with staples. The vendors sell tiny screws that most use to hold replacements in place. I have heard tales of folks dedicated enough to go back with staples. The other side of the window opening has rubber bumpers to prevent window rattle. How/if that translates to your 36 I don't know.

I think 36 is the same as your 38.

I have a 1936 Standard Coach. My side windows use a very small rubber bumpers. The bumpers are about half the size of a pencil eraser. It does not have felt sweeps that you see in later model Chevrolets. You can put a felt sweep on the inside garnish molding using small screws. Steel rubbers sells self stick rubber that you may be able to use on the other side of the window. Steele Rubber use to make the small rubber bumpers but I no longer see them in their latest catalog.
