I have a rod, about 3/8”, that runs from shock link mount to shock link mount under rear end with a turn buckle in it. It was on the car when I got it in 1964. I don’t know what it is supposed to do or if it should even be there. Any one have an opinion about it?

Can you post a picture?
Many GM cars had a rod from shock arm to shock arm that was for reducing sway on turns, This could be an after market thing for that purpose.

Thanks Gene, thought you might have seen something like that.
