Is this the correct Fuel pump for my 1934 Master Sedan...?? the part # on it is AC R1523089 It was on the vehicle when last driven in the 70's and on it when I bought it...... I am sending it off to be rebuilt with modern diaphragm material to the filling station tomorrow (Wednesday) IF it is not the correct pump... will it still function properly on my 207 master engine...?? is the pump lever long enough and at the proper angle to function as it should..?? Please respond before I send it off tomorrow... Thanks, Sunny
Sunny, here is a picture of the correct fuel pump for 1934. Also, there is a picture on page17 of the January, 1934 Chevrolet Service News. I think you said you have the 1934 Service News set.
Chevy Gene said it was for a 1937 and newer engine... he said the lever is too long... so I canceled the filling station rebuild.... and I found a 1934 #417 rebuilt fuel pump on E bay for $44... it looks just like the photo in Bill's photo above...... thanks for your response, Sunny
Make sure it was rebuilt with a modern diaphragm. The original type will not hold up to fuel that contains alcohol. I forgot that the '34 pump did not have a clear sediment bowl.
May I jump in here with a question? I have a 37 Master Deluxe with a 216 and I may be interested in Sunny's fuel pump that isn't correct for his car . . . .
Before I bought my car, the fuel pump had be changed to an AC 85V40151 and want to change it to one with the class dome that I assume would be more correct. Sunny has an AC R1523089 and when I dug out some of the old fuel pumps I'd acquired some time ago in the hope they would be correct, I discovered one was a AC1523089.
Can anyone tell me what is the difference between an AC 1523089 and an AC R1523089 ?
Mike said "Ask TFS to verify the application before proceeding with the rebuild." Sunny mentioned "Chevy Gene" but I had no luck finding either of these people on the forum.
Terry... Chevy Gene... goes buy the title 'Chevy Nut' here on the forums.... He said it was the correct pump for 1937 on up... here is his Quote, " Chev Nut

The 1934 is a one year pump only and has no glass bowl. A 1935-1936 punp will work and it has a glass bowl built ito the fuel pump casting . The filter is on the inlet side of the filter and hangs down. That pump is easier to find than the 1934 pump, Try Marxs Parts, he probably will have a freshly rebuilt one. "
