There is a picture of the switch in A Pictorial History of Chevrolet 1929-1939.

I believe the accessory catalog shows it as a push/pull switch with a plain black plastic knob.

I know that's what the vendors sell. My accessory catalog is out in the garage so it'll be tomorrow before I can take a look but I believe it's a push/pull switch. My son gave me a reprint of the catalog for Christmas a few years ago and I remember being surprised by the switch being different from what the vendors sell. I could very well be wrong. I'll post a scan tomorrow either way.

I have the big 8 x11 accy book and it shows the light and not the switch.

The 1939 used the same switch and the instruction sheet shows what I described.

I have slept a few times since I thumbed through the catalog so I could be mis-remembering it. I'll find out tomorrow.

That's what I thought, a simple push/pull switch with a plain black plastic knob. Thanks for posting. That saves me a trip to the "archives" in the garage.

I pictured it as a rotating switch.
