Hi, I am the new owner of a 28 AB National Coupe. I have been reading a bunch on the site so that has got me a long way so far so thanks for all of that.
Prior to even attempting to start this, I pulled the carb and it’s out for rebuilding. I will put fresh fuel in the tank and run it out the line to clear anything in the lines. I have on order, new felt and value cover gasket, figured I would clean that up top and obviously change the oil and aftermarket fram oil filter set up on the passenger side.
Also, planned to drain the radiator and run some fresh water in that and the motor to flush if possible.
Big question, I can’t find a “master” on or off , appears like everything is on, always. Any idea how someone might stop this motor, assuming I can start it, outside cutting the aftermarket fuel pump off?
Appears the key does nothing but unlock the column, which I don’t have but luckily, it’s unlocked.
Any other suggestions is appreciated?
Thanks Steve

Another project is that there are other points to oil on top of the head. There are 12 small felt donuts that go at the valve adjustment screws to keep the ball oiled. Another is that there is supposed to be about 1/2" of oil in the galleries the valve springs rest in. That is to theoretically oil the valve as it moves in the guide. Once a year before starting the touring season roll around underneath the car and lubricate EVERY moving part on the brake mechanisms. All the cross shafts, the rod pivot points, all the clevis pins, shaft sockets on the rear end, everything. This will make all the parts last much longer, and the brakes won't drag while being used.
I am sure you will get it sorted out and it will become a very dependable car you will cherish for many years.
