So I had a small exhaust manifold leak that got to big to overlook any longer. I had planned remove,?clean offf old and install a new gasket and drive happily ever after. But due to some unknown 60 plus years ago mechanic I have found I’m missing 1 intake runner. Anybody have one or know we’re Ivan get one. Worst case find a piece of pipe and try to cut one. Been this was for who knows how long but I figgure without it there’s less efficiency and a greater chance of air leak. Thanks for any suggestions or help.
After the suggestions here and some old threads on the net I’m trying it which them out. I’m sure I will have it off again and might put them back in after I find one. Thanks
Check your manifold for straightness. Many time they’re warped and need to be planed at the machine shop. If one gasket won’t seal it, two is not the fix, planing is.
Yes it needs to be planed. For the moment I put a double under the leaker. Stoped it but will be dealt with this winter. What is the most likely cause for one to be so different. It was the second from the back.
