Could someone give some guidance on what basic wiring I would need for a 207 first start. Just the basics.

I assume that all you want to do is to determine if the engine will run.

You only need 3 connections.

One is a large (2/0) cable from the + battery post to the starter.

Another 2/0 cable attached from the - post to the block as a ground.

A 16 gauge wire from the + post to the coil.

That is not needed to just start and run the engine. Just make sure the battery is charged pretty full.
