Any tips on best way to remove hup caps on a 40 without scratching up the wheels would be appreciated. Thanks, Bob

Various vendors sell no-mar pry tools. Even with them you'll need to make sure the wheel surface is clean because dust & grime will act like sandpaper. Here are some from Harbor Freight.

40ragtop, I use two pieces of plastic that I cut from a two-liter coke bottle. I slip the plastic together between the hub cap and wheel, and then I insert a screwdriver between the two pieces of plastic and twist.

I use plastic trim and interior removal tools. I bought a set from harbor freight for about $4 but they probably went up to $9

I use the wide tool from the Harbor Freight kit.

The other trick is that I put an old carpet sample on the floor next the the wheel. That way the hub cap does not get scratched when it “pops” off

When I remove hubcaps I hold me knee gently against the cap while using the lever, that way the cap doesnt fall to the ground and I then place it wheel side down.

Thanks to all for the tips. Picked up a set of non-marring pry tools, by Titan at our local Pep-Boys....old time shop still holding forth. Works well and I will also use several of above tips with them. Much appreciated.
