After driving about 2,300 miles I started noticing a little water leak . It appears to be on the back of head by firewall. I’ve had a few old car guy say use bars leak repair. All said as small and just starting it will take care of it. Any opinions. Not really wanting to do a head gasket right now.

Hello Kray1932,
Scrape and clean the leak area to know what's happening. You'll be in a better position to decide what to do about it. One caution: Tightening of head bolts can break them if threads are seized in crud.

I agree with Harry that cleaning is best to be sure of where the leak is now and then being able to keep an eye on it after treating. When working in the parts dept.of a heavy truck dealership we sold Irontite Allweather sealer with good results . www.irontite.com

Thanks
Car was not run much in the last 60 years. I’ve put 2,,500 on it in about 3 months. I’ve tried to stay ahead of things. I replaced the water pump. I used a magnet and removed and with water flushed out a lot of junk in the process. I was leaning towards the K seal as don’t have to worry about the antifreeze in the system. I was planning on pulling motor and trans to clean the inside of engine and new clutch. Might have to change nut plans. Thanks for the ideas and suggestions.

There is a frost/core plug at the back of the head which has probably rusted through. Only fix is to remove head and replace it.
