I need some help with info on a 32 pickup. What colors were available. Anyone have some good pictures from front, sides, back and dash (interior). Is data plate in the same location as a sedan. Where to find books on them and I'm looking for rear fenders, prefer original but will consider aftermarket. Are rear fenders the same as a car? Any help is appreciated.

The standard color was Blue Bell Blue. Working on finishing a '32 Deluxe Roadster Pickup for display at the VCCA 60th Anniversary Meet in Bowling Green, KY.

There is no Body plate like the closed cars. Car No. plate on the engine side of the firewall.

Original 1/2 ton rear fenders are made from non-obtainium. Reasonable reproductions are available.

Don't know of any accurate books other than the usual, owners manual, repair manual and parts book. All are available as reprints. Most books have numerous errors, even one with my name as author. It was edited without my consent or acknowledgment.

Are the rear fenders the same as the 32 passenger car? or are they the same as a 31 passenger car? or are they different altogether?

The rear fenders are 1/2 ton only. '31 and '32 are the same and different than either 1931 or 1932 passenger. That also includes the front fenders, running boards, side splash aprons.

I really appreciate your help Chipper and sorry for my lack of knowledge. I looked at the GM Heritage site and am not sure about which symbol to use for the pickup. I assume it is a 1/2 ton. Is the symbol CCbx - ULCa -or UCab? Also does it have a "VV" windshield or just a straight one? You mentioned books you authored, would it be possible to get the names of the books related to the 32 Truck?

The 1932 1/2 ton trucks were BB. passenger BA. Those are the IDs used in the parts books. I recommend you purchase a reprinted Aug. 1932 parts book. It will give the best information in print on the differences between trucks and passenger cars. I have been the VCCA Technical Advisor for 1931 - 1933 Chev trucks for many years. Currently own 5 of those trucks. It is a volunteer position to aid VCCA members in their maintenance, preservation and restoration.

The 1932 closed pickup has a swing-out windshield hinged at the top. The open cab pickup has a pivoting windshield. Only the "closed" passenger cars have the "VV" crank up windshield.

I don't know of a book that will be more helpful than the reprinted parts book. I did author a judging guidelines over 20 year ago. I will try to find a digital copy that I can email to you.
