Looking for a source for the clips that attach the chrome moldings into the rear window rubber seal.

Thanks Mike-i will give them a call as I have their catalog and did not see what I needed. It did mention to send a sample as they have hundreds in stock to try and match. I did see some on Ebay but the upper ones were $110.00 for 12 clips and the lower $75.00 for 8 plus shipping.

Steve, on page 158 in the Restoration Specialties ONLINE catalog shows that these clips are discontinued. Send me a PM and let me know which clips (large or small) you need and how many. I have some of each BUT they are experienced ones. They may be in worst shape than what you currently have.

Is there anyway to post a picture of the clips?

Sorry it took this long to post the exact clip. I had an upgrade to my computer, and I in the retraining mode. Anyway, what I believe you are looking for is the upper rear window s/s molding clip. Attached are photos of the molding itself and the clips that go with it. Again, these are the original clips that came with these moldings. The moldings are an extra pair I have. The two on the right are a little crispy but the rest are good.

Hawkeye I need four to have the 12 but like the ones you referenced four of my eight are 'crispy' . I am thinking I can fabricate something that will work as long as it will fit the width of the molding. The lower ones are packed away but I know I also need some of those.

According to the Parts Book, you only need 6 total clips for the upper reveal moldings - 3 per side. See the photo I posted above as well as the link below. It's kind of hard to read but go to the second group - 11.206 and look at the first listing. It shows (6) 45571697 clips for both the right and left moldings. I believe the lower clips are larger than the ones pictured above. Let me go out to the parts department and see what I still have. I will post a photo when I locate them.

My parts book dated 1955 calls for 12 upper 4571697 (6 per side) the small ones and that is what I took out . The lower 4571696 list 8 and that is i believe what came out but I need to dig those out of storage. I would be willing to purchase whatever you feel comfortable in parting with. I did noite that the ones listed on Ebay are made of stainless. I like that idea and may still try to make them.

Sorry, I read the parts book wrong. It shows 6 clips but it also states left & right. I assumed that it meant 6 total. I have 4 clips that I can part with. I do not have any of the larger clips for the belt molding. Will send you a PM.

I have a lot of clips that I cannot identify. I don't recall seeing any that resemble yours but I will take a look. Are the larger ones the same shape/type?
I would love to match my clips with someone who could use them. Send pictures of what you need and I will be glad to look for them.

Mike

They look exactly like the ones shown above except size. I will measure one and post it . May be a little while . Best I can measure it is 15/16" or .9375 using a Harbor Freight digital caliper . That is the part that slips into the inside of the molding .
