Filling Station part #FS-538 Front Fender Anchor Plate. Can anyone tell me where this goes? Instructions says it "slips over the front frame horn" but I'm not exactly sure exactly where that is. Also - are the exposed fasteners stainless? Any pics showing front fenders installed would be appreciated. Thanks.
On my 31 they hold the rear of the front radiator splash apron through the fender to the frame. My original screws had some remnants of chrome so I used oval headed stainless and buffed the heads.
I can take a picture tomorrow if you still need it.
Bertus, I am not aware of a need for the "Filling Station part #FS-538 Front Fender Anchor Plate" on a 1932 Chevrolet passenger car. The illustration posted by m006840 shows the correct parts for mounting the front fenders and radiator splash apron.
Chipper: Looks like you are correct. Don't know why they have it listed for a '32. m006840: Great diagram! Looks like the part I need is shown as 1804. I guess it mounts to the frame and a long bolt goes right through with the rubber spacers (1801 and 1802) as shown? Not sure what 1803 is though. Also - what is an Experimetal Catalogue and are they available? Many thanks for the help guys!
Experi-Metal Inc. was a company that reproduced 32 Chevy steel roadster bodies and body parts in the early to late 80's but then went out of business. The 1803 is the insulator for the front splash apron. Their catalog does have excellent parts diagrams. I think when they went out of business many of the parts were sold to various vendors however probably most of that stock is depleted. A complete roadster body and chassis could be purchased for around $18000 dollars. It was designed with the "hot rodder" as the potential buyer but many parts were available as original .
Thanks Chipper. TFS indicated both. I actually found the 1804 bracket on the diagram among my "extra" parts. Will have to make a second one but at least I have a pattern to copy. Thanks again m006840 for the info. Interesting and very helpful.
