Hello Everyone,
Well I dropped the ball on this one, during my general clean up of my '37 interior, I decided I would repaint the e-brake handle as it had a lot of chips in it from trying to snake the trans cover over it. I did not take a pic of how the spring was attached inside, although it appears to be a slip in. I did find a drawing on line, but not sure if it is suppose to interact with the bolt that holds the squeeze handle to the main e-brake lever. Any info or a close up pic of an actual one would be great.

Hi Dave,
Are you referring to the torsion spring that goes near the top where the release handle pivots? If so, I know exactly what you are trying to figure out. I did not take enough pictures or make good notes when I took mine apart. Lots of fun!!
Let me know and I will take some pictures tomorrow.

Hello Dave .... On my ’37 MD the spring has two loops with the 2” end under the release handle. At about the last 1/4 inch the spring has a dog leg bend away from the release handle. The other end goes into the hole in the main shaft of the brake. The spring loop rests on the main shaft of the emergency brake. The spring isn’t secured other than by its own pressure. Hope this helps. rgds jim p

Hello Rusty, Jim,
Any pics would be great. I know the long end goes inside of the release handle, its the short end. Does it " V " up into the lever or drop in ??
