Just bought a 1972 K10 with a rebuilt motor - clutch and throw out bearing were done at same time. After some highway driving there is a squeak/squeal that happens when the truck is idling in neutral and driving in any gear. It goes away when the clutch is depressed - classic throw out bearing sound - but the bearing is new. I’m wondering if I should adjust the clutch rod. There is no free play at the top of the pedal.

Your thoughts?

Thanks!

I would start with adjusting the clutch first.

If there is no freeplay at the top of pedal travel I suspect the thrust bearing is riding and maybe allowing the clutch to slip. Allow about 1/16" clearance at the outer end of the clutch fork. This may not be the current problem but will be a problem in the future.
