Would this fire extinguisher be approved for judging?

From the judging manual. Fire Extinguisher …Required ALLOwners are required to have an operational fire extinguisher, which will be inspected at the Field Entrance Check. The fire extinguisher must meet current ANSI/UL standards and be rated for a minimum 5 B-C classification. It must have all seals intact. If it has a pressure gauge, it must read charged

If it has a plastic nozzle, it is a throwaway type extinguisher, metal nozzles can be serviced and recharged.

I did read the judging manual. Since I am not an engineer or chemist, is there an easy answer to this question? I see information on the label but it means nothing to me. If a judge were to read this label on my extinguisher, would it be allowed or not ? Thanks

The short answer is yes, meets requirements. A 10 B/C is better than a 5 B/C.

Before you blithely place that extinguisher in your car thinking all is good, you should confirm that it is not included in the MASSIVE recall Kidde has initiated on their extinguishers manufactured over the last 20 or so years. Go to Kidde.com and look up "product recall notices". Seems to me the number of 48 million extinguishers comes to mind. 35 years in the fire sprinkler trade, last 15 included extinguisher service. In my opinion a true BC extinguisher is a better choice for automotive. Or if you don't mind the cost Halon 1211.
