Two-part question: 1. have seen Caprice described as an Impala trim option for 1966, becoming its own distinct marque for 1967. Correct? 2. Geo Dammann in his 1966 chapter states "185,500 were wagon models in all four series trim levels" which suggests there was a Caprice wagon in 1966. Correct? CDP

The Impala was of the 16400 sries and the Caprice the 16600 There was a Biscayne, BelAir, Impala and Caprice wagon In 1965 the Caprice was based on an Impala option. Caprice became its own distinct marque for 1966, not 1967? 2. sole model year that Caprice was an Impala trim option was 1965, not 1966? The reason for my state of confusion Dammann refers specifically for 1966 to Biscayne Series, Bel Air Series, Impala Series, Impala Super Sport Series and the new Caprice Series (that's five) and then goes on to state "185,500 were wagon models in all four series trim levels".
