Hi, the laptop goblins keep stealing my pics. I though I sent this once but it disappeared. ( where does this stuff go?) I hit the post new thread box and nothing happened, but all my typing and pic is gone. I'm trying again. If this works I hope someone can tell me . and what it fits . then i'll post it in for sale forum. The first one I sent shows a badge on one side and says Genuine and has a chevy bowtie and "hot water heater" on it, I dragged the wrong pic this time and I don't know how to change it back , It said only one pic at a time. O.K. I'm gonna click the box below that says post new thread. Thank You, Doc

I will type my message, highlight and copy the text (message) then add the picture. If everything goes away, I can simply retry and just paste the text (message) back into the post.

I didn't see a forum for ( what is this ?}. so i'll just stay here till someone tells me not to. Along with the heater I have some parking lites and some country horns and I don't know what yrs they are or what they fit. I'm sure someone here at this site knows and can help me. am gonna post (try) them here cause they need to be I the hands of fellow club members and not on a shelf collecting dust. I don't know what paste means and theres Red squiggly lines on my words but i'mgonna hit post anyway. Thankyou for your patience. Doc

You are doing well, you will soon be a computer wizard the way you are going. The red lines under a word means the computer thinks you have spelt that word incorrectly, most of the time we (the reader) can decipher what you have written so it doesnt matter that much.
As for where you are posting there isnt a real problem with here but specific questions would most likely get better response in the correct section though as you say there isnt really a specific place for "what is it?" though the above parts would fit in the "6volt Electrical" until you try selling then the "parts for sale" with a price is the prefered place.

If you re trying figure out what your parts are; if I remember correctly, and if not I know someone will correct me; but, the dual horns attaches to the bottom of a 38 hood, and the parking lights go on the front fenders.

Thanks for the reply John, These horns look very similer to my 37 but 37 bolts to engine cowl support system and not the hood. So 38 must bolt to hood and rise up with hood when open. sounds good to me but don't have 38 to verify. Like you say, if wrong someone will correct. Just as soon as I find out what they fit , they will go to for sale forum. Thanks again John. Doc

38 is like the 37's as they attach to a cross bracket between the support rods that run from the rad support to the cowl.

All ao the long accessory trumpet horns up through 1939 attach to the hood rods. Also the 1937-1938-1939 horns are slightly diffferent from one and another.

Wow ! Thanks guys, Sooner or later we'll find out what they fit and don't fit. Had a guy stop by today and he said he thought they were off a 48 Mercury , he thought ! I guess I could list them in forsale forum as 6 volt country horns cause they WILL work on chevy or mercury or golfcart if 6 volt.

Sorry to "hijack" your thread but I seemed to be having the same problem with my first posting of photos. Yep they disappeared - let see if they show up on a posting.

Worked!
So the pictures we post won't show up... even when we preview our post... until we actually do post??
Strange. Makes it hard to verify that I actually attached the right thing before I push the final button.

Yes, the photos show up when you actually post the message. But, you can edit it right away if something didn't work out the way you wanted.

Cheers, Dean
