I want to express my sympathy for all of our friends in Australia who have been affected by all of the wild fires. We hope you stay safe.

Myself as well.
It's hard to watch the video footage on the news as it just seems to be getting worse and doing so much damage. Hope more rain arrives.

So far we've only had a few light showers(but not where it's really needed),but in some areas it's a bit cooler giving the fireies a chance to backburn and have a break.According to authorities,it's the worst bushfires in recorded history and there could be more to come.Sock & wildlife losses are still mounting, and many surviving stock will have to be put down due to their horrific burns, and those that are alive can't be fed properly due to road closures and a lack of feed caused by the drought.

While I havent been directly impacted by the fires they have been upto 30klm (18 miles) away and affected several of my friends to varying degrees. We expect fires at this time of year this lot have hit at 1 time which makes them seem worse. I wont start on what I consider government actions which (I believe) have aggrevated the problem
As CJP stated the nation wide drought was bad enough so now there is little to no feed or water for surviving stock to help anyone recover and more than 700 homes lost including more than half of at least 1 village.

The fires are being controlled for now but they warn the weekend weather will not be helpful.
There have been at least 1 Canadian, 1 US (I think Californian) and at least 1 New Zealand crew here helping, those on the front appreciate the assistance of these crews.
