I have a question about tail lights for my 35 Standard. They are the bumper mount type. Do they go on between the bumper and the frame which moves the bumper out a little more to give more room for the spare tire, or is the bumper mounted first and then the tail light bracket?

In the first part of 1934 up to late December………….all Chevrolets 1933-1934 used the fender mount as did 34-35 std roadsters and phaetons , plus coupes.
Late 1934 the sedans still used the removable gas tank cover panel. But starting late 34 the actual body of a sedan got stretched 2” longer making the fender mount tail light bracket no longer usable.
The new bumper mount bracket for late 34 std and 35 standard sedans was put into use. Bumper is mounted and the tail light license plate bracket is mounted to it.
Here is a rear picture of a 35 Chevrolet standard stock and original tail lights!

Thanks. I wasn't sure if with both tail lights they were mounted first to push the bumper out an extra inch to make room for the metal tire cover.
