Does any one know where to get an antenna? I have been told that the antenna for my Cabriolet was only under the running boards. I thought mine had the original one on the outside, but I guess I was wrong.

In 1938 there wee two antennas. The under running board and the top of the roof versions. Since a cabroilret had no roof there is no choice. A cowl side anttena was not available in 1938.

The under running board antennas do show up on Ebay occasionally but condition and price can be an issue. If you have a cowl antenna you can't hide the holes and they are at least almost period correct (think 1939?) so not badly off unless you are showing for points.

If you find a crappy under running board antenna on Ebay, etc, or find some really good pictures, someone handy could reproduce a set of these or restore a set of original rough condition ones.

For those who didn't read my post in the "Parts Wanted" forum, I found the under the running boards antenna in the original box. The installation instructions had never been unfolded. I can't believe that I was so lucky to find these. Below is a picture of the contents of the box. I want to thank everyone who has given me the information on what was the original option for my cabriolet.

I bought a 1933 5 window coupe about 2 years ago that was partially disassembled in 1966 and in dry storage since, 52 years! The parts I got with the car included an "under running board antenna". There was an original radio in the car but no indication this antenna was ever on this car. Would this be a correct item for the '33 vehicle? It appears to be identical to the ones you have displayed here

No, It was first available in 1935. The 1933 has an antenna built into the top material.
