please advise where to get original interior specs for a 1930 Chevy sport coupe with rumble seat and dual side mounts.

Basically, there is nothing available except for what is listed in the 1930 Chevrolet parts book and the 1930 Engineering Features manual.

So the parts book indicates Sport coupe used same material as the Sedan and Special Sedan. so if you find an original (or one reupholstered as original) then you will at least know the style of fabric used. Color would depend on exterior color.

I was told by one of the self anointed experts that parts books can't be used for documentation because they are for replacement parts and may not be the same as original parts. I disagreed with him as long as the book was published very close to the build date of the vehicle. We never came to an agreement on the subject.

I may have been the "self anointed" expert. If so I resent the title as I have never claimed to be an expert and have not anointed anyone including myself. Others may have used those terms.

Having researched particularly 1931-2 Chevrolets for 50 years (and consulted several others as well) we have found that the parts through the Chevrolet (GM) parts system to the repair facilities don't always match those in production. Some parts for a given production year don't appear in the parts book until after production ends. Others are replaced by new "improved" or parts that fit and function but are not identical to production parts. Some are carryovers from previous years. Some parts used in production were only used in particular factories. Occasionally those are referenced in the parts books and others not. That being written the vast majority of parts are correct and accurate particularly if in the books published late in the year of production or the next few years. Granted that the parts books are a great resource as is other literature. My recommendation is use any resource available but try to verify with additional information.
